Fortunately for me, once my scripts have gone up to the server they have worked fine. Since this is a different problem from the one you started out with, it would be nice to know what if anything has changed in your code. But when I run this function I got the error Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromjpeg? You don't need to specify an extension in php. You might have the same luck! If that is the exact code you should not have double quotes around the function call to the method but that is not what is causing this specific error. Would there perhaps be an easier way? But the sample image I picked for jpg was small and too dark. Pay attention to a problem I encountered. Then when you use the image, use this.

. But for jpg, the thumbnail I get is a dark broken image. Loads a file based on its filetype and returns false if it fails. I know it's probabally overkill but in the configure messages, it says yes for everything gd, jpeg, png, and zlib. So, make sure you're telling them the raw symptoms of what goes wrong, rather than your interpretations and theories.
The quality of the thumbnail is so poor. Well, what can I say? However, when I restart Apache everything is just the same as it was! Never have I experienced such joy in actually managing install something than on Linux. Try removing that option from configure and build it again. . The contents of the file is not a black image, it's a sequence of bytes and I wanted to know if the sequence of bytes had any clues. Finally I also added the following line to php. It's not a big deal - you can just paste that lot onto a command line and it will work! Can anyone point me in the right direction here? If anybody wants to see the configure messages let me know. And I use 100 instead of 75 as the quality too. My sample image is an evening photo. But my thumbnail is only with ugly and unclear blue color.
